Simply been contemplating that melody.
Is it somewhat harsh (about ladies) or do we think
he had a specific circumstance at the top of the priority list when he composed it.
I think about whether he read a news article or was viewing a BBC
show that enlivened him?
It's melancholy to the point that line " Please don't stress, there'll be no fuss.....She was no one's nothing...."
There's a hypothesis in the Len Brown book Meetings With Morrissey that the tune may be about Jo Slee (his old collaborator). A similitude for her being solidified out by new administration or something. I think Slee herself said that she thought it was gone for her as it was around the time she was evaded.
